An image showcasing the beautiful culture of India. I want to show the beauty of women by styling them with heavy jewellery like Jhumkas and Mang tikkas, along with traditional Indian attire like Sarees. I have used North Indian fabrics for the backdrop while dressing my model in a Kanjeevaram saree from South India. I also use props like candle holders and incense. I wanted to add to show the depth of our culture, and once again reiterate the setting of the olden times. The heavy Indian look represents royalty and is what the higher class, like queens and princesses, wore in medieval times. While creating this mood through the setting, I attempt to challenge the traditional ways of perceiving women and their bodies by adding a sexual context. Greatly inspired by the visuals seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movies.
