On the London Underground, time stretches on and seems to stall. Faces are turned inward, guarded and distant from each other, with arms folded, hands clasped, and thoughts hidden as each passenger counts the minutes lost to the grind. Only a child disrupts the silence by speaking with an older companion, perhaps a fleeting reminder of potential connections amid the stark solitude. In this steel horseless carriage, life is measured not in moments lived, but in moments endured. The repetitive routine of necessary travel allows proximity to replace intimacy, and mere presence does not mean sharing. It is a familiar moment, the kind that defines the Underground as countless lives intersecting, yet never truly meeting.
