I created the montage of seascape by combining a few age-worn, old, and tattered items which I photographed in a famous tourist site – the 120-year-old Concubine Lanes – in my country, Malaysia. The image is an abstract of a seascape, but the boat is actually a digitally modified, tatty, age-blackened brick, and the brick is made about a hundred years ago. The sea is a very old piece of historical wall in the Concubine Lane, and the paints upon the wall are horribly peeling. The frame of the image is the texture I found upon a door in the Concubine Lane, and I created such fusion to produce a fine-art seascape in an artistic and aesthetic way. I want the viewers to see the eloquent beauty of art when age-worn things coalesce creatively. When I clicked the shutter button, I could imagine its marvel if I digitally enhance those items, subtracting other distractions, and producing an all the more seamless and abstract seascape image.
