Mother • Three Pulses

This series unites seal painting, bronze carvings, lacquer, light, and the living movement of shrimps into a fluid stage of life. The three images respectively symbolize the stillness before life begins, the collective surge toward light, and a “new sun” born through the refraction of water and light. The Fang Yi Art Movement, founded by Shi Men (Yong Wang), centers on tracing the origins of civilization — exploring the wisdom born from the interactions of humans with plants, animals and minerals—and transforms the aesthetic of medicinal formulas into art. Captured through the close-up capabilities of an iPhone, the work reveals visual angles unattainable to conventional professional cameras, integrating ancient formulas, living movement, and cosmic illumination into a coherently breath visual field.
