"Borderline Oceanā aims to describe those situations of mental suffering (transient or permanent) that are placed between neurosis and psychosis. It is a condition where the reality test is compromised, where the image and perception of oneself are markedly and persistently unstable, where the prevailing defense mechanisms are those centered on splitting: a condition in which evil and good ( represented by the 2 white and black spheres) cannot be integrated, oscillating between love and hate, between idealization and devaluation or persecutory experience, without being able to find a balance. The presence of the mirror and reflections aims to emphasize the unstable perception of self and the examination of reality that is compromised. The technical and chromatic choices used aim to create an atmosphere of isolation and solitude, with a strong sense of judgment and external observation. The use of neutral colors and minimalist compositions aims to represent a sense of apparent calm, which contrasts with the internal emotional turmoil typical of borderline personality.
