A Great Blue Heron and Double-crested Cormorant were both preening themselves on a downed branch that gave a nice background. I almost pasted them at first but decided to take some shots and realized the composition was great. I waited for them to look up at the same time. This was only my second day taking out my camera, so it was extremely gratifying to take this image. It was the first one I took that made me feel like a photographer.
