A portrait of a melanistic leopard that is wild and free. This black panther is one of the rarest animals to see in the wild. The big male roams free in the jungle of Nagarahole Tiger Reserve in India. According to the naturalists at the reserve, the black panther got the scar on his face from a fight with a male leopard that the locals know as “Scarface,” which is not melanistic. It’s amazing how all scars have their stories and each individual wears their story. This big cat's rosettes can be seen through his beautiful black fur. An experience of a lifetime.
