Splash

This photo was taken in Bajamar on Tenerife (Spain). That day my wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. In the restaurant where we had lunch, a young family was sitting nearby. As we left the restaurant and started to walk down towards the natural sea pools the waves of the ocean hit the breakwaters with surprising force. We watched in awe; hypnotized with the rhythms of the raw nature. And then we recognized the family from the restaurant. They were standing under the lighthouse and were clearly unaffected by the heights of the water that was splashing behind them. At once the father raised his son into the air. It was one of those magical moments, which screamed an immediate capture. After taking this image, they disappeared from the platform. I was once told that this would be great photo to illustrate a life insurance offer and quite frankly – I believe that there is some truth in this statement.
