Beverley often grounds her work within a socio-political theme, such as visual subversions of the 24-hour televised newsfeed that are photographically re-worked into more peaceful places of resolve. ‘I wish to portray a message of hope and otherness that transports us from the mundane and the ordinary of the every-day, where the poetics of small moments can be found. These seemingly tiny chinks then connect to a bigger, universal picture of humanity wherein notions of peace and higher ideals for humanity can be found.
