It was crisp Icelandic summer day when I began my hike to the Abandoned DC Plane on Sólheimasandur in Southern Iceland. A tourist mecca and global fascination, it was1973 when a United States Navy DC plane ran out of fuel and crashed on the black beach. When I finally reached the crash site, there was a woman there with her family that stood out like a blast of color on a cold, black canvas. I took a hero shot viewpoint and captured the woman with her beautiful orange saree blowing in the wind.
