Walking about the cobblestoned thoroughfares of Cannes, one discovers ancient chapels and fortresses, edifices far older than one can conceive. Although nowadays the town has a vigorous enthusiasm for affluence it also has a vast history reaching far back before the Romans. On this lovely, bright sunlit day, while out on a photo hike, an elder lady gracefully walked past me. She smiled, saying “Bonjour” as she virtually floated across the historic stone walkway. The charming woman returned to her thoughts of her day, and I admired her elegance and manner.
