Bee-eaters are some of the most erratic, and extremely fast flyers because their food source is insects which they catch on the wing, in mid-air. It is extremely difficult to capture a mid-air contact between a bee-eater and its prey, but fortunately they do have a habit of returning to the same perch when hunting in an area which helps a little... Because they very often will catch insects such a bees, which have a sting, they more often than not, will catch the insect then beat it to death or to get rid of the sting, before they swally them whole. This was a Little Bee-eater, who was in the process of catching a fly just before beating and swallowing it.
