Sunsets in Botswana are spectacular due to the flatness of the topography which means the sun’s rays travel further through the atmosphere and the evening haze which provides the wonderful colours. We were on the Chobe River as the sun started to set, and as good fortune would have it, we found a lone elephant bull enjoying an evening snack of grass on a small island, with the setting sun exactly behind, and brilliant red evening sky.
