The urban environment, particularly in New York, has become a self-contained space completely detached from nature. The city is multifaceted—both a place where people meet and interact and a sanctuary for individual contemplation. My work captures the moment of a person crossing the street, where the buildings range from old to new, from low to high. In the distance, towering skyscrapers scream of the city’s bustling vibrancy, while the nearby decaying buildings reflect the city’s solitary side. My work explores the tension and balance between individuals and the urban landscape. The city, while being a dynamic stage full of energy, also acts as a cage that dictates the rhythm of life. A lone person, small and seemingly insignificant, both seeks freedom within this environment and is inevitably shaped by it.
