Winter is a hard time for many animals to survive, and so the starling is looking for something to eat. It is sitting on an ice-covered branch of an ironwood tree and the fog covers the landscape in a complete white. Only the starling's plumage is a splash of color in the bitterly cold landscape. One wonders, has it seen anything edible? In any case, it didn't notice me, so I was able to photograph it handheld with the telephoto lens.
