I was walking through the bustling streets of Bangladesh, where the scorching sun beat down relentlessly. People sat on the ground, resting wherever they could, while stray dogs, exhausted by the heat, lay sprawled out on the pavement. As I observed this scene from behind, my eyes met those of a young girl. She squinted, staring at me intently. Perhaps I was a curious sight, a foreigner in her world, but her gaze carried more than just curiosity. It was sharp, almost piercing, as if cutting through to my core. In her eyes, both innocence and a keen, insightful awareness seemed to blend, as if she could see straight through me.
