The image shows a close-up shot in the Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo in Spanish), the most famous of the numerous waterfalls of Iguazu, where the water dramatically plunges about 80 meters into the depths. The Iguazu Falls are an overwhelming natural wonder on the border between Brazil and Argentina. Spanning almost 2.7 kilometers, they consist of over 275 waterfalls and are a true homage to the beauty and power of nature. The water flows gently over the rocks, forming shimmering curtains that glisten in the sunlight, while the surrounding jungle imparts an aura of mystery and pristine beauty. Yet, the Iguazu Falls are also a testament to the incredible force of nature. During the rainy season, the water plunges with thunderous force, creating a deafening roar and rising high into the air. The energy and dynamism of nature are palpable. In this perfect harmony of beauty and strength, the Iguazu Falls remind us of our reverence for nature and our connection to the Earth. A gift of nature that underscores our need to appreciate and protect these wonders. The image is part of a project that took me to the waterfalls during two seasons – the rainy and dry seasons. I photographed from a helicopter, a boat, with a drone, and from the ground with and without a tripod.
