Notes on Migration is a long-term project that aims to shed light on aspects of migration from West Africa to Europe. From 2017 to 2020, Andrea spent several months in West Africa, collecting hundreds of migrants' testimonies during public debates and one-on-one interviews. Then, in 2022, he embarked on the Ocean Vikings with the SOS Méditerranée team where he took these images. During their 4 weeks together, the team rescued 4 boats adrift in international waters off Libya with 315 people on board, including pregnant women and children. The nationalities of the people rescued were mainly from Ghana and Nigeria, but also from South Sudan and Eritrea, as well as Libya, Tunisia, and Syria.
