Raghuvamsh Chavali is a Canadian photographer of Indian origin who works across fine art, wildlife, astrophotography, and visual storytelling. He is drawn to moments that often go unnoticed birds cutting through city skies, natural light slipping between buildings, or brief events in the night sky that feel almost magical when seen at the right time. He is best known for his award-winning project Wings Over Concrete, a long-term series about birds living in urban spaces. Rather than focusing on conflict or loss, the project celebrates how birds adapt and thrive alongside people. By layering movement and repeating patterns, Raghuvamsh turns everyday city scenes into visual stories about rhythm, balance, and coexistence. The project earned 1st Place in the 10th 35AWARDS Photo Project Series, selected from over 473,000 entries from 174 countries, and has been featured by The New Indian Express, Deccan Chronicle, BBC Discover Wildlife, FRAMES Magazine, CBC Radio, and PetaPixel. Raghuvamsh’s photographs have received recognition from international photography competitions including the Exposure One Awards, Re-focus Photography Awards, Belfast Photo Festival, All About Photo Awards, Nexus International Photography Awards, and the Golden Shot International Photography Awards. His work has also appeared in well-known publications such as Smithsonian Magazine, BBC Sky at Night, Canadian Geographic, National Post, LiveScience, Space.com, and Lonely Planet India Magazine. Alongside making photographs, Raghuvamsh enjoys exploring how images are created and shared. He has written international articles introducing Interlacing Frames, a technique that blends video and still photography to show motion in a single image. He also holds a patent in biometric watermarking and secure imaging, reflecting his interest in image authenticity and protecting creative work in the digital age.
