Photographer's Profile
Italy
Gabriele Rodriquez - 1960 He lives in Verona with his wife and 3 sons. Teacher in business subjects until 1997. He has worked as a Chartered Accountant since 1990. Lent to photography, since 1977 this has become an activity that has gradually proved to be more than a passion, more than just a hobby. Photography has probably filled an area of one's cultural life that the studies followed have only touched upon. To his credit the publication of 5 printed volumes, from reportage to the most extreme Mobile Art. Lover of reportage in general and travel specifically, for some years he has dedicated himself to creative photography known as Mobile Art. The use of the mobile phone, for the fact of always having it on and for its ease of use allows you to record images in times and places in an immediate way. As part of a broad design, the images thus recorded are then reworked with particular Apps on tablets or smartphones. The tool, together with the capacitive pen, thus becomes a digital canvas on which to scroll one's fantasies or one's inner ghosts, as if they were visual obsessions that turn into creations that have little to do with respect to the original image. There is much discussion as to whether the final product is still attributable to photography, it is true that the starting point is always a shot impressed on a photographic sensor, then for the rest it is right that everyone gives their own reading. As written by Giancarlo Beltrame, art and film critic, in a preface to one of the books presented by the author:… “Gabriele, without the limits dictated by the need for the reproduction of reality that each ontologically camera contains in itself, has started to explore new territories of the image and the imagination always starting from a still photographic shot. They become patrols that inevitably lead to interior spaces. Those areas where memories are deposited, dreams are stratified and fantasies and obsessions are unleashed.
