Built in the 18th century, Bourse de commerce, a circular building with an open-air interior court was used to trade wheat and other commodities. In 1854, the building was converted into the Paris stock exchange. The rotonda and dome were added which resembled the French and Roman Pantheons. The building was restored by architect Tadao Ando and has been the exhibition site of the Pinault Collection since 2021. The Bourse de Commerce in Paris features a stunning double helix staircase designed in the 18th century. This staircase, designed by Nicolas Le Camus de Mézières between 1763-1767, was built in the Corn Exchange building to facilitate the movement of porters carrying heavy sacks of corn. “WAITING”, the sculpture by Yuan and Yu, is a 164 cm high menacing model of an eagle observing from above. The sculpture is made of fiberglass, silicon and feathers. “TURISTI” by Maurizio Cattelan. The very real looking pigeons rest on the balustrade of the rotunda.
