I grew up, born and raised on the east coast. I lived there for the first 17 years of my life. Then after moving to the Midwest, and living there for 11 years, I decided to return home. I went home to Philly longing for the food, culture, lifestyle, pace, and above all the ocean, which, in my opinion, cannot be found the same way in the Midwest. I traveled in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts to satisfy this long built up desire to be completely immersed once again in the east coast. These pictures capture my re-encounter, experiencing the east coast and seeing through the eyes of an adult. I hope you relish in the good, the true, and the beautiful that these pictures captured. And much to my surprise, I found in the end, I wasn’t seeing my childhood world again with my adult eyes, I was seeing my childhood world again with my child-like eyes. To sum it up, I lived T.S. Eliot’s words: “We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
