As the sun rises over Lisbon, blazing clouds light up the sky above the 25 de Abril Bridge. The vivid colors turn the Tagus River into a tapestry of red and gold. I set up the frame so that the bridge's industrial strength would stand out against the fleeting beauty of sunrise. This is Lisbon at its most tender. The city is waking up, and its beauty is based on both change and permanence.
