This photo-sculpture aims to visualize and create an experiential representation of the "hybrid identity" faced by contemporary international students (and cultural immigrants in a broader sense)—a sweet yet unsettling state of suspension between tradition and modernization, East and West, belonging and alienation. It explores how consumerism offers us seemingly convenient symbols of cultural identity, yet the meanings behind these symbols remain fluid and ambiguous.
