I was practicing hand-held long exposure and ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) techniques at the St. Andrews Lock and Dam in Lockport, Manitoba. While focusing on the water gushing out, I noticed this pelican just screaming across the water. Without thinking and while keeping my eye in the camera's eyepiece, (I still can't believe I did this!!!), I adjusted my focus point to the right, locked onto the pelican and tracked him. This resulted in a mix of horizontal/vertical blurs while, at the same time, maintaining focus on the pelican. A once in a lifetime shot!!!
