This lily flower illustrates how our perception of an object can differ depending on how we look at it. This photograph reminds us of Escher’s artworks as we might be unsure of the “direction” of the petal tips. Are they going inward or outward? The roundness of the flower and the flow of the petals also suggest a rotational motion. This makes a dynamic impression even though the image is still.
