Fantastic Beasts As our future is uncertain - no one knows which creatures will survive for future generations, as dinosaurs exist only artificially. Our time leaves the possibility that our descendants would have a chance to see animals like dinosaurs — only inflatable or made of plastic bones. Wars, climate changes, draughts, diseases and many issues are challenges humanity is facing. There's also the broader question of space exploration and the potential for colonising another planet, a concern that seems to be on the minds of only a few on Earth. I’m discovering these issues in a fairy tale style about a new world where all the animals are made of inflatable balloons. As no need to be sad pointing to the problem. I’d also mixed ideas all in one to let viewers choose what they feel more. With my journalistic background to create some pictures I’d kept in mind - everything is not what it seems. Needs double check. I was thinking about what the concept of puffiness means to me. Besides the environmental issues related to plastic recycling and usage, such as finding deflated balloons far out at sea—issues more dependent on human behaviour than on plastic itself—I also thought about double meanings. In that angle I feel a part of the global world’s life with its Illusory well-being and constant pursuit of external glamour with emptiness inside; as many people replace grey everyday life with vibrant virtual reality; know as politicians make empty promises; finances can collapse one day and other things. While conceptualising the project, I was inspired by biblical and mythological themes, blending elements of world art, epic tales, and blockbuster films. For example, the owl OtO should speak in enigmatic, Yoda’s style phrases. On other hand, toys are a chance for viewers to make a step back to childhood, stop being serious at least for a while. To make a jump between dreams and the realities. Through fairy tale charm and deeper reflections, it challenges viewers to ask question the nature of reality and the impact of our actions on the future.
