A picture that I have wanted to take for years: the Loisach flowing out of the Kochelsee in winter as the fog clears. It's more difficult than it seems at first, because it has to be cold enough for hoar frost to form and there should be at least a little snow. Little wind is desirable so that the trees are reflected. The fog is not the problem; it actually always occurs in high-pressure weather conditions in winter due to the warm water in the Kochelsee. The question is rather whether it will dissipate... For me, the whole thing is made even more difficult by the fact that I have a two and a half hour drive and can't even check the weather "live". Here, the webcam on the Herzogstand showed me, on the one hand, that the fog had started to dissipate around 10 a.m. the day before and, on the other hand, that there was currently fog. Since it's about the moment the fog clears, I had to be there early and then wait and hope. My patience was put to the test: I had to wait almost four hours until the fog cleared and the mount heimgarten was visible. Just as quickly it closed again and I started the two and a half hour drive home...
