Inspired by the mythical Gotham and Metropolis Cities of Batman fame, first published in comic form 1927 and made famous in the original Tim Burton 1989 movie. Widely perceived to be NYC the various movies have in fact evolved though many architectural styles from gothic spires to art deco and towering metal structures. They are all highly evocative urban landscapes reflecting a dark and often dystopian mood, but all with imposing structures and strong lines that take on a character of their own in the storyline. This collection of images are a modern, somewhat futuristic interpretation of that genre, all taken in NYC.
